I'll stamp all over 'serious fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex two time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami venue on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I plan to injure his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of these statements, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally recognized for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead criticized former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Fighter

Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Still, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's largest money-making draws, regularly earning massive paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in round four or five and asserted he would prevent the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As the two fighters engaged in the usual stare-down, with their size difference evident, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the match is actually proceeding.
