The assault resulted in the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport in which 21 people sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to police.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

The arrests follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was among the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and were later released.

Police detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Police were called at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of several people hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be pepper spray.

The assault - which police said was isolated and not considered terrorism - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
